Return to Camp Nou

Day 2 in Barca. Glorious sunshine again. The last week caught up on me somewhat though and i spent most of the day enjoying a prolonged siesta.
Once awake at 7pm it was down to camp nou and Barcelona FC v Racing Santander. It was my second visit to the Nou Camp having gone with Bakes, Jonny, Dan and co in January 2005. That time we saw Ronaldinho perform some magic in a Barca win. This time there was no Ronnie but still a Barca win over the 6th placed side in La Liga. The game wasn't a cracker but there were still a few moments of magic from the likes of Messi, Deco, Henry, Bojan, Gudjohnsen and Iniesta. Henry took a while to get into the game, in fact he was pretty awful to begin with, but a headed goal from close range gave him confidence and he grew into the game from there. The best football came after the introduction of Lionel Messi after about an hour. -The crowd absolutely LOVE him! The roars when he came off the bench to warm up were louder than anything else all evening. A few moments later when he arrived on the pitch the game came to life and Barca strung some really neat moves together.
It was a good trip out...just 2 euros 60 for the return metro (a 6k round trip), 26 euros per ticket (the cheapest are 18 - the same price to get into Whaddon Road!) and endless pots of free chocolate mouse at the end!
Monday tomorrow...we're going to start looking out for jobs and places to stay.
Hasta Luego
